Cady Parliman LCSW-S Licensed Clinical Social Worker, EMDR Trained

I’m Cady Parliman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for creating a warm, collaborative, and trusting therapeutic space. My approach is rooted in authenticity, vulnerability, and the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful catalyst for positive change.

Background:

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University and earned my Master’s in Social Work in 2016 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. With over 10 years of experience, I have worked in both residential and outpatient programs, specializing in mental health and substance use issues. Before embarking into private practice full-time, I was the Clinical Director of a PHP/IOP program in The Woodlands, TX for 3 years. My expertise includes complex and relational trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, relationship issues, attachment concerns, low self-esteem, and those who have perpetual issues with boundary setting.

Approach:

My therapeutic approach is personalized and collaborative, with intention focusing on where you currently are and what your life experience has been thus far. I tend to integrate parts of Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), but my practice is grounded in the therapeutic relationship itself. I also often conceptualize from a psychodynamic lens, which is a fancy way of saying that what you’re currently struggling with is probably influenced by your history with caregivers, relationships, and the world in general. My practice prioritizes a trauma-informed, relational perspective and looks to embrace strengths you have already developed to survive and help you create new ones to live a life you yearn for and deserve. I am EMDR Trained and actively use this in my practice to help my clients access deep healing from past traumas.

Whether you are new to therapy or have had challenging experiences in the past, my goal is to collaborate with you on your therapeutic journey. Your well-being is my priority, and I strive to create an environment where you feel seen and heard.

Fun Facts:

  • I enjoy exploring new places to eat in Houston and spending time outdoors.
  • My favorite time of year is fall. You will find me cheering on my FSU Seminoles (and the Texas Longhorns) every Saturday.
  • I love traveling, whether it’s to neighboring cities or abroad.
  • My cat, Luna, is my best friend, and we often spend our free time reading a good book.
